Service coordination

Building confidence. Promoting independence. Empowering everyday life.

At Life Focus Services, we believe that independence isn’t just about doing things on your own — it’s about having the skills, confidence, and support to live life on your terms.
Our Development of Life Skills service is designed to help individuals build essential abilities for everyday living, long-term independence, and personal growth.

Whether you’re learning these skills for the first time, or rebuilding confidence after a life event, we’re here to guide you — at your pace, in your way.

What does Life Skills Development include?

This service focuses on practical, everyday abilities that empower individuals to live more independently, participate more fully in their communities, and make informed decisions.

  • We can support participants with:
  • Budgeting and managing personal finances
  • Understanding and paying bills
  • Meal planning, grocery shopping, and basic cooking
  • Communication skills (verbal, written, and digital)
  • Time management and daily scheduling
  • Using public transport and travelling independently
  • Social interaction and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Self-advocacy and personal safety awareness

These supports are provided one-on-one or in small group settings, based on the participant’s goals, comfort, and learning style.

Our person-centred approach

At LFS, we don’t just “teach” — we coach, encourage, and adapt.
We focus on:

  • Empowerment over dependency
  • Patience and repetition, tailored to learning pace
  • Flexible delivery — in-home, in the community, or online
  • Goal-driven planning, reviewed regularly for progress
  • Real-life application, not just theory

Our goal is to help you develop practical confidence — the kind that opens doors to education, employment, relationships, and a better quality of life.

Where can this service take place?

Depending on your goals, we can support skill development:

  • At home (e.g. cooking, cleaning, budgeting)
  • Out in the community (e.g. transport, shopping, navigation)
  • In shared spaces or day programs
  • Via virtual coaching (where appropriate)

This service is available as part of an individual plan, or integrated into a broader support program.

How does it work with the NDIS?

This service typically falls under:

Capacity Building – Daily Living Skills (Support Category 15.04)

We can help you identify relevant goals and align your plan to include ongoing life skills development — especially for those preparing for independent living, study, or employment.
